About Me

My photo
RobinDesHautbois
Ottawa, ON, Canada
Software developer by weekday. Formerly classically trained oboist and conductor (B.Mus.). My oboe spent nearly 10 years in the closet while I got 2 degrees in Engineering (M.A.Sc.). Now that I have a great job, I'm reviving my oboe and rediscovering its wonders! My Lorée has been with me for over 35 years - we've been through a lot together! Still, I crave an oboe d'amore and a baroque sounding modern oboe: Dupin Imperial's classical bore is stunning, Marigaux players have always caught my attention, Bulgheroni is beautiful, Fosati is intriguing and Albrecht Mayer's work with Ludwig Frank is astounding! Suffering fibromyalgia for more than 17 years and chronic fatigue all my life. That didn't stop me from working in the Canadian Army Reserves for 8 years! Now, Tai-Chi is making me a new man!
